HighPoint has not developed SSD7000 or 7500 series device drivers for the TrueNAS platform. HighPoint’s unique RAID technology is dependent on our device drivers. As such, HighPoint RAID configurations will not be recognized by TrueNAS. If you wish to use these products in non-RAID mode, you will need to refrain from installing any HighPoint related software. The platform should recognize SSD7000/7500 series controllers as standard NVMe adapters; our controllers present all hosted NVMe SSDs natively to the host, which can be accessed via the OS’s default NVMe driver support.
Customers looking for an NVMe storage solution with integrated FreeNAS support should consider our SSD6200 Series NVMe RAID AICs, the Rocket1500 series PCIe Gen4 NVMe AICs or the Rocket 1000 Series PCIe Gen3 NVMe AICs.
These products series are natively supported by TrueNAS (in addition to FreeBSD, Linux distributions and VMware ESXi), and can be used to host NVMe SSDs in a variety of configurations, including OS-based RAID arrays and drives managed by an SDS (software defined storage) application.
