Apple macOS system upgrades

If you are using a HighPoint NVMe RAID Controller or Enclosure (SSD7000 series, SSD7500 series, SSD62000 series, RS6661A-NVMe series or SSD6540 series), and have recently updated or upgraded your macOS operating system, you will need to uninstall, and then reinstall the current HighPoint NVMe driver.

After macOS is updated, it may load a previously installed driver instead of the current, correct version. Unfortunately, you cannot simply reinstall the new driver-there is no guarantee that macOS will load the new driver unless previous versions are manually removed.

Uninstalling the Driver (macOS 10.13x & 10.14x)

Open a Terminal window and enter the following command:

sudo rm –rf /Library/Extension/HighPointNVMe.kext

Uninstalling the Driver (macOS 10.15x)

Open a Terminal window and enter the following commands:

sudo rm –rf /Library/Extension/HighPointNVMe.kext

sudo kextcache –i /

Uninstalling the Driver (macOS 11.x)

Open a Terminal window and enter the following commands:

sudo rm –rf /Library/Extension/HighPointNVMe.kext

sudo kextcache –i /
