Which HighPoint RocketU HBA can support four Spectrum Analyzers?

Applications that require dedicated bandwidth, such as Spectrum Analysis, will benefit from RocketU HBA’s that utilize our dedicated Per-Port Performance Architecture.

Spectrum analyzers rely on storage and connectivity solutions capable of sustaining “real-time” workflows. Uncompromised host to device bandwidth is a requirement. Each USB port must be capable of supporting an Analyzer, without compromising available bandwidth.

Recommended: Dedicated Architecture

RocketU 1400 Series 20G HBA’s and RocketU 1200 series 10G HBA’s feature independent, bi-directional USB device ports, each of which is powered by a dedicated USB controller, and backed by a PCIe 3.0 host interface.

Our Per-Port Performance architecture enables each port to function as an independent USB 3.2 controller; they can operate concurrently without fear of interruption.

Not Recommended: Shared Architecture

RocketU HBA’s that utilize a shared USB architecture are not suitable for such applications. Controllers such as the RocketU 1344A and RocketU 1388C do not provided dedicated per-port USB 10G bandwidth; each USB 3.2 10Gb/s USB controller is shared by two USB device ports.

If one port is already utilizing all of the available bandwidth, the second port cannot be used.
