Yes – the NVMe AIC is not the only thing you must take into consideration.
It is important to make sure the NVMe SSDs you are working with are capable of supporting hot-swap/hot-plug. Most industry standard U.2/U.3 SSDs can support these features. However, M.2 media, as a general rule, cannot.
In addition, older platforms may be unable to support hot-plug/hot-swappable NVMe storage configurations. If your target platform has not been certified with modern operating systems (such as Windows 11/Server 2022), it may have trouble supporting or even recognizing the SSD7580x AIC’s Hot-Plug/Hot-Swap related requests and commands. If you are working with an older platform (pre 2019), we would recommend consulting the manufacturers knowledge base / support FAQs, and ensure the latest firmware/BIOS updates have been installed for the host motherboard. Likewise, make sure the OS platform is up to date, and that the latest patches and service packs have been applied.
