How do I safely unplug a RAID array or disk hosted by the RocketStor 6114V or RocketStor 6124V?
Unplugging a RAID Array
Windows
1. Open Disk Management and select the RAID Array that need to be removed.
2. Right-click the RAID Array Disk that needs to be removed, and click Offline
3. Open the WebGUI, and click the Advanced Config. Tab. Locate the RAID Array that you wish to remove and click the Maintenance button.
4. Click the Unplug button:
5. The array can be safely removed from the system after the following message is displayed:
6. Open Disk Management to confirm that the RAID Array’s Disk has been ejected.
7. Power off the RS6114V or RS6124V enclosure and unplug the USB cable from the host system.
Mac
1. Open Disk Utility and select the RAID Array that need to be removed.
2. Right-click the RAID Array that you wish to remove and click Eject:
3. Open the WebGUI, and click the Advanced Config. Tab. Locate the RAID Array that you wish to remove and click the Maintenance button.
4. Click the Unplug button:
5. The array can be safely removed from the system after the following message is displayed:
6. Open Disk Utility to confirm that the RAID Array Disk has been ejected.
7. Turn off the RS6114V or RS6124V power switch and unplug the USB cable from the Mac.
Troubleshooting
The RAID array fails to Unplug
If you are unable to unplug a device or array, and the following message is displayed:
Solution:
Make sure that the array/drive is not being accessed or written to; close any open windows, files or applications that are using the drive or array.
Once confirmed, try using the Unplug option again.
