Hard disk drives, SSD’s and NVMe SSD’s that already contain data can be used with HighPoint SSD7000 Series NVMe RAID Controllers, RocketRAID controllers, and RocketStor enclosure products.
Our products will recognize existing disks as “legacy” drives – you do not have to configure an array (RAID or JBOD), or create a new volume in order to access your data. These disks should be automatically recognized by the operating system (provided the HighPoint driver has been installed and is able to load).
Note:
Do not create a JBOD array using drives that contain data – your data will be lost!
The term “JBOD” is often used to describe a single-disk configuration (single hard drive, SSD or NVMe SSD that contains data).
However, HighPoint products adhere to the traditional definition of JBOD (“just a bunch of disks”).
This mode should only be used for new disk configurations. Please contact our Support department if you have any questions about “JBOD” configurations.
