I have rebuilt or recovered my RAID array, but the volume is still not accessible. How can I resolve this?
This is not a commonly reported issue. However, if the array is intact, but the volume cannot be accessed, the problem is likely related to the operating system (such as the file system), rather than the physical RAID array.
In some cases, whatever triggers the physical disk failure may occasionally damage the volume’s partition table or file system. Customers have reported this problem can occur when a system experiences a sudden drive drop as a result of a connection or cabling issue, or loss of power while the array or drive is in use (such as a background write session). Note; this problem is not exclusive to RAID configurations, or our controllers/enclosures.
You can check the status of the partition using the operating system’s primary storage management tool (such as Windows Disk Management or macOS Disk Utility).
Note: Periodically verifying redundant RAID arrays (RAID 1, 5, 6, 1/0 and 5/0) will help reduce the likelihood of data loss or corruption in the event of a disk failure.
