1. Scenario 1: The customer connects the NVMe SSD’s directly to the motherboard and installs the OS to the SSD’s using the AMD driver. After OS installation is complete, the SSD’s are moved to the HighPoint SSD7000 controller to boot the OS.

i. Possible problems:

a) The hptsvr is service running, but the WebGUI cannot connect to the SSD7000 series controller.

b) Highpoint NMVe RAID Controller is displayed under "Storage controllers" in Device Manager - right below the AMD-RAID Controller entry:

ii. Cause of the problem:

a) AMD RAIDXpert is not disabled. This feature is no longer needed once the SSD’s are hosted by the SSD7000 controller.

iii. How to resolve:

a) Disabled the AMD NVMe RAID feature in the motherboard BIOS menu.

b) Set SATA Mode to AHCI

c) Save the Settings and restart the system. AMD RAIDXpert has been Disabled.

2. Scenario 2: Customer is using an SSD7000 Series controller with an AMD motherboard, and AMD RAIDXpert is installed.

i) Possible problems:

a) The hptsvr is service running, but the WebGUI cannot connect to the SSD7000 series controller.

B) The HighPoint NVMe driver cannot load;

The Highpoint NMVe RAID Controller is displayed under "Storage controllers" in Device Manager - right below the AMD-RAID Controller entry.

ii. Cause of the problem:

a) Installing non-HighPoint, third-party drivers when using HighPoint products. Third-party software and drivers provided by the NVMe SSD manufacturer may prevent the SSD7505 from working properly.

b) The AMD drivers have not be uninstalled.

iii. How to resolve:

a) First, uninstall the AMD driver using Control Panel.

b) Next, access Device Manager and uninstall the AMD-RAID Controller by right-clicking on the entry:

                                                           01

                                                           02

                                                           03

Warning:

To avoid NVMe device related issues, we recommend that AMD’s RAIDXert driver/software not be used alongside HighPoint SSD7000 NVMe RAID controllers. Please uninstall the AMD driver before installing the HighPoint NVMe drive driver.
